Labour Protection Act (No. 7)
Labour Protection Act (No. 7) B.E. 2562 (2019) (Amendment Act No. 7), which introduces significant amendments to Thailand’s Labour Protection Act B.E. 2541 (1998) (LPA), was published in the Royal Thai Government Gazette earlier this month and is set to come into force on 5 May 2019.
The key forthcoming amendments to the LPA, which we summarized in our earlier article, available here: http://www.siampremier.com/newweb/en/publications-detail/15/Draft-Amendments-to-Thailand do not contain any significant changes since being passed by the National Legislative Assembly on 13 December 2018.
Employers in Thailand should ensure that they are prepared for compliance with the changes to the LPA under Amendment Act No. 7.
